Nissan unveils fully electric Micra as Suzuki plans affordable EV city car

Nissan has reintroduced the Micra as a fully electric model, marking the sixth generation of the compact car. The new Micra features a 150‑horsepower electric motor, a stylized design with distinctive LED lighting, and a modern interior that includes a 10.1‑inch touchscreen with integrated Google services while retaining some physical climate controls.

Suzuki is preparing a low‑cost electric city car based on its Vision e‑Sky concept, aiming for a European launch around 2027. The company targets a price below €20,000 to compete with models such as the Renault Twingo, focusing on compact dimensions, reduced battery size, and affordability for urban drivers.

Both announcements reflect a broader shift toward electrifying the small‑car segment in Europe, with manufacturers seeking to meet stricter CO₂ standards and growing consumer demand for budget‑friendly electric mobility.
