Nissin Foods and FamilyMart expand frozen food offerings

Nissin Foods Frozen is expanding its product lineup for the 2026 autumn and winter seasons to address rising consumer demand for high-quality, reliable frozen meals amidst inflation. The company plans to launch nine new products and six renewals on September 1. Key additions include a Kyoto-style back-fat soy sauce ramen supervised by Kairikiya and a large-size version of the ‘Donbei’ brand. President Kengo Mishima noted that the frozen food market has doubled over the last 15 years, and the company aims to enter a ‘Frozen 3.0’ era focused on consumer-centric development.

Simultaneously, FamilyMart is introducing a new frozen ‘Garlic Rice’ under its ‘Famimaru KITCHEN’ private brand. The 280g portion is priced at 321 yen and is designed to mimic the flavor of steakhouse garlic rice using beef bouillon and beef fat. FamilyMart is also continuing its weekly Friday promotion, offering a 50 yen discount when customers purchase two eligible frozen food items.
