Nissin Foods launches new Japanese spice curry Donbei udon
Nissin Foods has launched its new ‘Donbei Tokumori Wa-Spice Curry Kitsune Udon’ across Japan starting August 31. Priced at 321 yen, the product is designed to replicate the trend of creative spice curries using a Japanese-style twist.
The curry broth is based on bonito and chicken umami, blended with six ‘Japanese spices’: green chili, yuzu peel, sansho pepper, shiso, ginger, and white sesame. This combination is intended to provide a refreshing aroma and spiciness that differs from the brand’s standard curry udon, which typically features a beef-flavored broth with bonito and kelp.
The product includes the brand’s signature fluffy fried tofu (age), which is intended to complement the heat of the spices with its natural sweetness.
