Nissin launches cold‑water “Cold‑Rehydrate” cup noodle for summer

Nissin Foods introduced a new “Cold‑Rehydrate” cup noodle that can be prepared using only chilled water. After five years of development, the product uses a patented cold‑water rehydration method and ultra‑thin flat noodles that soften in five minutes without hot water or ice. Two flavours were released – a spicy kimchi variant and a chicken‑lemon variant – each priced at ¥285 (tax‑excluded). The debut is set for 20 July 2026, targeting summer consumption and outdoor settings such as camping, where boiling water is inconvenient. The company highlighted safety benefits, noting that the product eliminates the need for boiling water, and the ingredients, including its “mystery meat” and egg, retain their typical texture and flavor.
