Nissui expands frozen one-plate meal production capacity

Nissui is expanding its frozen one-plate meal business following strong sales growth. The company reported that sales of its household frozen one-plate products increased by approximately 50% in fiscal year 2025, outperforming the market average. In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, sales rose by 30% compared to the previous year.

To meet demand, Nissui plans to increase production capacity by approximately 20% by autumn 2026 through its group company, Funabashi Delica Service. The company is also investing in a new smart factory in Kitakyushu, scheduled for completion in December. This facility will utilize automation, IoT, and AI to optimize production planning and quality control, with a planned annual capacity of 24,000 tons for frozen foods and fish sausages.

In the commercial sector, Nissui’s ‘E-cooking’ series, designed to address labor shortages, saw sales double in the first quarter. The company aims to leverage its strengths by integrating its food and marine divisions for product development.
