Nisyros: Sailing vessel runs aground near port

A Greek-flagged sailing vessel ran aground on rocks near the port of Pali in Nisyros due to strong winds reaching 6 Beaufort.

The Hellenic Coast Guard and a fishing boat were mobilized to conduct a rescue operation. Reports on the number of passengers vary between four and five foreign nationals, all of whom were successfully evacuated to safety.
