Niterói cultural heritage and tourism initiatives

In Niterói, a legislative proposal has been filed at the Legislative Assembly of the State of Rio de Janeiro (Alerj) to recognize Clube Central as an Immaterial Cultural Heritage of the State. Founded in 1920, the institution is being honored for its century-long social, cultural, and sporting contributions to the region. The initiative aims to preserve the history and memory of the club for future generations.

Separately, the Niterói Leisure and Tourism Company (Neltur) has established a partnership with the Independent League of Tourism Guides (LIGUIA). The collaboration includes a series of 'Famtours' scheduled between October and December to introduce guides to Niterói’s landmarks, such as the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) and various beaches. The goal is to encourage guides operating in Rio de Janeiro to promote Niterói as a key tourist destination.
