Niterói expands education services with holiday program and 300 school support hires
The municipality of Niterói, Brazil, is running the "Tô de Férias na Escola" program from July 13 to 24, offering daily activities for 704 primary‑school students at 15 public schools. The schedule includes dance, theater, music, storytelling, games and cultural events, with opening and closing ceremonies at the Darcy Ribeiro Training Center and activities at the Municipal Theatre.
At the same time, the city opened a simplified selection process for 300 temporary school‑support agent positions at the Municipal Education Foundation. Applicants must have a high‑school diploma; the roles pay R$2,217.07 for a 40‑hour week and are reserved for general competition, Black and mixed‑race candidates, and people with disabilities. Applications close on July 10, with contracts lasting up to three years pending extensions.
