Niterói launches enrollment for Youth and Adult Education program

The municipality of Niterói opened registrations on Monday, 20 July 2026, for the second semester of its Educação de Jovens e Adultos (EJA) program. The enrollment period will remain open throughout the year and is divided into two stages: the first allows current municipal students to renew their place and update documentation; the second accepts new applicants who wish to begin or complete basic education from 1st to 9th grade.

Eligibility covers individuals aged 15 to 31 March 2026, with those over 18 registering personally and minors represented by a legal guardian. Required documents include photos, ID, CPF, proof of residence, and, when applicable, a military service certificate, school‑attendance declaration, blood‑type proof, and a statement of disability. Municipal Education Secretary Bira Marques emphasized that “EJA transforms lives by offering a new opportunity for those who needed to interrupt their studies,” and affirmed the city’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment.
