Niterói launches urban infrastructure and cleaning initiatives

The city of Niterói has launched several municipal projects aimed at improving urban maintenance and infrastructure. The Companhia de Limpeza de Niterói (Clin) is conducting a task force to intensify cleaning and conservation services across various regions, including Morro do Bumba and Morro do Holofote. This initiative involves 80 employees performing tasks such as environmental awareness, clearing drains, mowing, and debris removal to improve public safety and quality of life.

Simultaneously, the Empresa de Infraestrutura e Obras de Niterói (ION) has commenced an urban development project in the Largo da Batalha area. With an investment of R$ 2.1 million, the works include the construction of a new reinforced concrete bridge, road paving, drainage system implementation, and LED public lighting. The project is expected to be completed within 12 months and aims to address historical mobility issues and flooding caused by heavy rains.
