Niterói Municipal Guard nears 1,000-agent milestone

The Niterói Municipal Guard is nearing a milestone of 1,000 agents following the start of a training course for 87 new guards. The current force consists of 829 agents, and the addition of these new professionals will bring the total to 916.

Mayor Rodrigo Neves stated that the expansion is part of a gradual strengthening policy involving investments in infrastructure, qualification, technology, and integration with other security forces. The city aims to reach the legal limit of 1,000 guards permitted for cities of its size.

Additionally, the mayor signed the order to begin construction on a new Municipal Civil Guard Training Center to support the ongoing expansion and professional qualification of the force.
