Niterói offers free nature trails through October

The city of Niterói is hosting a series of free guided nature trails as part of the ‘Niterói Ecotur Sem Barreiras’ project. Organized by Neltur in partnership with the Clube Niteroiense de Montanhismo and municipal environmental and accessibility agencies, the initiative aims to increase contact between residents, tourists, and preserved natural areas.

Scheduled activities include a hike at Morro das Andorinhas in Itaipu on October 24, which offers views of the Serra da Tiririca State Park. On October 30, a trail will take place at the Caminho de Darwin in Engenho do Mato, a historical route once traversed by Charles Darwin in 1832. A third excursion is planned for October 31 at Ilha do Pontal in Cafubá.
