Spencer Pratt's Los Angeles mayoral primary loss sparks unfounded voter fraud rumors
Former reality‑TV star Spencer Pratt finished third in the June 2 Los Angeles mayoral primary, trailing incumbent Karen Bass and City Councilmember Nithya Raman. As of the latest count, Bass leads with about 34 % of the vote, Raman with roughly 29 %, and Pratt with 25 %. Pratt broke his silence on X, posting the question, “Are they done counting yet?” while the race remains officially open for further ballot counting.
Social‑media posts have circulated unverified claims that homeless voters on Skid Row were paid to vote for Bass. A TikTok video showed three individuals saying they received $5 to vote for Bass, but Los Angeles County officials noted the woman in the video is registered in Inglewood and found no evidence of paid voting. Campaign spokespeople called the allegations “absurd.” Experts said isolated incidents, even if true, would not affect the outcome of an election in which more than 750,000 people voted.
The primary outcome sets up a November runoff between Bass and Raman. Pratt’s campaign, which attracted support from national figures such as former President Donald Trump, has not indicated whether he will pursue further political activity.
