Nitsiakos reports profit growth ahead of MHP acquisition

Greek poultry producer Nitsiakos reported strong financial growth for 2025, marking a significant period of expansion prior to the gradual takeover by the European giant MHP. The company’s turnover rose by 7.68% to approximately €570 million, up from €529.36 million in the previous year.

Net profits increased by 5.4%, reaching €27.84 million compared to €26.41 million in 2024. Gross profits also saw an uptick, rising to €73.65 million from €69.69 million. During 2025, the company executed an intensive investment program totaling roughly €48.2 million in fixed assets, including land, buildings, and machinery.

The acquisition deal, which involves MHP—controlled by Ukrainian billionaire Yuriy Kosinskiy—sees the European group acquiring a 70% stake in Nitsiakos. This move is expected to shift the balance of power within the highly concentrated Greek food industry. Looking toward 2026, management noted potential challenges including market uncertainty, volatile raw material and energy prices, and fluctuating financing costs.
