Nizza Monferrato: Two arrested after armed raid and shooting

A violent spree in the center of Nizza Monferrato left a 17-year-old injured and caused widespread panic during the early hours of Friday morning. The incident began around 2:30 a.m. in the area between Piazza XX Settembre and Via Cirio, where an intoxicated man in his 30s began harassing youths outside a local establishment.

The situation escalated when the man produced a blade, leading to a physical altercation. A bystander managed to temporarily repel the attacker using pepper spray. However, the violence resumed approximately thirty minutes later when the man returned in a vehicle with an accomplice. During this second phase, the suspect brandished a firearm, fired multiple shots into the air, and struck a parked car.

The suspect then exited the vehicle and struck a 17-year-old male in the head with the butt of a pistol. The teenager received medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and a 15-day prognosis. Carabinieri arrested two men with prior criminal records in connection with the incident, and they have been transferred to the prison in Alessandria.
