Njegosh School faces language rights issues for Albanian students

Students at the ‘Njegosh’ primary school in Idrizova, Gazi Baba, face ongoing challenges regarding their right to education in their native Albanian language. Currently, Albanian-speaking students can only attend classes in their mother tongue up to the sixth grade. To continue their education through the ninth grade, they are forced to relocate to schools in other municipalities.

Valon Jahii of the Alliance for Albanians has criticized the Ministry of Education, questioning why the right to native language instruction is not being upheld. In response, Minister of Education Vesna Janevska stated that the issue will be addressed through the construction of new classrooms to expand the school's capacity. However, she did not provide a specific timeline for when these facilities will be completed, noting that construction could occur as early as November or in the spring.
