The NJIT women's volleyball team secured its first victory of the 2026 season by defeating Manhattan University in a five-set match at the Joel & Diane Bloom Wellness & Events Center.

The match progressed through several competitive sets, with NJIT winning the first (25-15), Manhattan taking the second (26-24), NJIT winning the third (25-23), and Manhattan winning the fourth (25-19). NJIT ultimately clinched the match in the fifth set with a score of 15-12.

NJIT's Ema Torres led the team with 22 kills, while Aries Fontaine contributed 13 kills. Freshman Leah Devaraj recorded seven service aces. The victory marks NJIT's first home-opening win since 2023.
