NJPW Destruction in Kobe results: Takagi and Newman secure victories
New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) held its Destruction in Kobe event on Sunday, featuring several significant match outcomes and prior lineup changes due to health issues.
In a featured singles match, Shingo Takagi defeated Claudio Castagnoli. Despite Castagnoli using power moves such as a gutwrench superplex and giant swing, Takagi secured the victory using the Last of the Dragon.
In another notable match, Callum Newman defeated Jeff Cobb. The bout, involving former United Empire teammates, concluded when Newman utilized a low blow while the referee was distracted, followed by a pinfall.
Leading up to the event, the card underwent multiple adjustments. Yuya Uemura, Yushin Hatazawa, and Kosei Fujita were forced to withdraw due to ill health or injury. Additionally, Taichi had previously withdrawn from the card for health reasons, resulting in the cancellation of the kickoff match and restructuring of the tag team bouts.
