NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling 2026 features returns of Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega

New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) held its King of Pro-Wrestling 2026 event, signaling preparations for Wrestle Kingdom 21. The show featured significant returns from former world champions and AEW figures, including Kenny Omega and Jon Moxley.

Following a victory by Shingo Takagi over Hirooki Goto and Tatsuya Matsumoto, Jon Moxley appeared via video to challenge Takagi to a match. While not officially confirmed, speculation suggests the bout may take place at Wrestle Kingdom.

In other championship action, Will Ospreay and the United Empire lost the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championship to Unbound Co. (Jeff Cobb, Yuto-Ice, and OSKAR) after interference from Callum Newman. Following the match, Ospreay challenged the Knockout Brothers for the IWGP Tag Team Championship at NJPW Power Struggle on November 3.

Additionally, Kenny Omega has issued a challenge to Yota Tsuji, further building momentum toward upcoming major NJPW events.
