NK Celje advances to Champions League final qualifying round

NK Celje secured advancement to the final qualifying round of the Champions League after a dramatic 2-0 victory against Ararat-Armenia. After losing the first leg 1-2 in Armenia, the Slovenian champions needed a win to progress. The decisive breakthrough came late in the match, with Yaya Dukuly scoring in the 83rd minute, followed by Benjamin Verbič in the 85th minute.

Following the match, coach Vitor Campelos expressed immense pride in his players, noting that they have written history for the club. He highlighted the significance of the achievement not only for the team and its fans but also for Slovenian football, as the success contributes to the national coefficient and provides financial benefits to the domestic football ecosystem.
