NK Korana opens new football pitch in Karlovac

Football club NK Korana has officially opened its new football pitch at the Turanj – Degoje location. The project, which took two years to complete, was fully funded by the City of Karlovac at a cost of 2,451,434 euros.

The new facility features artificial turf, a lighting system, and modular stands with a capacity of over 200 seats. Additionally, the site includes a ground-floor building with three changing rooms for up to 66 players, separate facilities for referees, a meeting hall, and an office. The development also provides a parking lot with 82 spaces for cars and people with reduced mobility, plus two spaces for buses.

The opening ceremony included various matches involving junior and youth categories. NK Korana president Mario Goršić noted that the club had been without its own field for five years, during which time they played all matches as visitors. The club is entering the season with three selections—youth, juniors, and seniors—with the senior team competing in the First County Football League of the Karlovac County Football Association.
