NK Maribor signs 17-year-old defender Anže Zabukovec to three-year deal

NK Maribor has secured the future of 17-year-old central defender Anže Zabukovec by signing him to a new three-year contract. The move is part of the club's ongoing strategy to integrate and retain young talent.

Zabukovec has already made his debut in the Telemach PrvaLiga last season during a match against Aluminij. In the current season, he has made six appearances for the youth team while increasingly participating in senior squad training and matches. His development included stints at Kresnice, Jevnica, and Domžale before joining Maribor.

Zabukovec noted that the contract serves as motivation for his continued progress, highlighting the increased physical demands and speed of decision-making required at the senior level.
