NK Olimpija Ljubljana hires Vasil Trenčevski after sacking Miša Brečko
NK Olimpija Ljubljana announced the appointment of 49‑year‑old Yugoslav coach Trenčevski as its new head coach. He had been the club’s first candidate even before the brief tenure of Miša Brečko. Sport director Nedžat Aygün selected him, aiming to bring stability after a period of rapid changes.
Miša Brečko, a former Slovenian international, was dismissed after just two league matches – 180 minutes – giving him the shortest tenure in Olimpija’s top‑flight history. The previous record was held by Marijan Pušnik, who was fired after four matches. This swift turnover continues a recent pattern of frequent coaching changes at the club.
