NK Osijek signs Portuguese forward Balelo from third‑tier club

NK Osijek announced the signing of 24‑year‑old Portuguese striker Miguel Ângelo Bastos Melo, known as Balelo, from third‑division side Paredes. The player will wear the number 99 jersey and joins a squad that is undergoing a major rebuild under new sporting director Kenneth Zandvliet and coach Federico Bessone.

The transfer was part of a modest summer market in the Croatian top flight, with the window total amounting to about €375 000, a sharp decline from the €20.37 million spent the previous summer. Osijek’s spending on Balelo was the only notable outlay reported for the club during this period.
