NK Rudar Trbovlje upsets NK Olimpija in cup match

NK Olimpija Ljubljana has been eliminated from the Pokal Pivovarne Union after a 1-0 defeat against third-division side NK Rudar Trbovlje. The decisive goal was scored by Maj Sajovic in the 11th minute.

Olimpija coach Jugoslav Trenčovski described the loss as a “great shame” for the club and took full responsibility for the result, citing errors in squad rotation and player positioning. The defeat follows a difficult start to the league season for the Ljubljana-based club.

Following the match, Olimpija players attempted to apologize to their supporters, the Green Dragons, but the fans responded by turning their backs on the team.
