NK Varteks inaugurates new stadium in Hrašćica, Croatia

NK Varteks, a third‑tier Croatian football club, opened its own stadium in the Hrašćica suburb of Varaždin after more than two and a half years of construction. The opening ceremony featured a friendly match against Slovenian multiple‑champion NK Maribor, which ended 1‑1 with goals by Vizinger for Maribor and Fran Kukec for Varteks.

The project was carried out by the City of Varaždin together with club volunteers, and received support from the Croatian Football Federation and the County Football Federation. The new ground, informally called “BumbArena,” includes a modern grass pitch, player facilities, automatic irrigation and surrounding infrastructure, with further upgrades and licensing expected to be completed during the summer.
