NLC India Renewables awarded 900 MW solar project by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam

NLC India Renewables Limited, a wholly‑owned subsidiary of the Navratna enterprise NLC India Limited, has received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) to develop a 900 MW solar power plant in Gujarat. The project was granted through a tariff‑based competitive bidding process, and GUVNL will purchase all electricity generated under a long‑term power purchase agreement.

The award follows an earlier 300 MW solar project that NLC India Renewables secured from GUVNL, and adds to the company's growing renewable portfolio, which already includes over 1,000 MW of capacity additions across solar and thermal assets. The new project supports India’s clean‑energy transition and expands NLC’s order book as part of its asset‑monetisation strategy.
