NLNG and NCDMB launch engineering research centre at Rivers State University
Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) and the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) have broken ground on the Research and Innovation Centre for Computer and Electrical Engineering (RICCEE) at Rivers State University in Port Harcourt.
As NLNG’s largest Human Capital Development Institutional Strengthening initiative to date, the centre aims to bolster advanced research, specialized training, and technological development within Nigeria’s energy and industrial sectors. The facility will include a professorial chair designed to function as a research and development hub, focusing on solving critical operational challenges for NLNG and producing commercially viable innovations for wider industrial use.
NLNG Managing Director Adeleye Falade described the project as a strategic investment intended to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry requirements. NCDMB Executive Secretary Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe noted that the project supports the board’s objectives for human capital development and indigenous technological advancement.
