NMB Bank and UDSM strengthen partnership to foster student talent

NMB Bank and the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) are strengthening their five-year partnership aimed at talent development, academic excellence, and preparing youth for the labor market. During the NMB Best Student Awards 2025/2026, ten top students were recognized with certificates and a prize of 2 million Tanzanian shillings each.

NMB Human Resources Head Joseph Ngalawa noted that the initiative has already helped over 150 graduates acquire job readiness skills through preparatory programs and career exhibitions. UDSM Vice Chancellor Professor William Anangisye praised the collaboration, stating that such recognition motivates students to strive for higher academic standards.

In a separate address during UDSM’s 56th graduation ceremony, Professor Anangisye urged graduates to uphold Tanzanian and African values, including peace, unity, and integrity. He emphasized that education should be used as a tool for national development and social responsibility rather than personal gain, encouraging graduates to contribute to sectors such as entrepreneurship, digital economy, and research.
