NMB Bank supports employee wellness via SHIMISEMITA competitions
NMB Bank is supporting the Tanzanian government's initiative to improve the physical and mental health of public servants through the SHIMISEMITA National Competitions currently held in Mbeya. The event brings together more than 5,000 employees representing 184 local government authorities.
To support the competition, NMB Bank has donated 34.5 million Shillings and jerseys to teams that qualify for the quarter-finals in football, volleyball, netball, and basketball. Wogofya Mfalamagoha, NMB's High Lands Zone Manager, stated that the bank's involvement is based on the belief that healthy employees are more productive and provide better services to citizens.
Prof. Riziki Shemdoe, representing the Prime Minister, praised the bank's collaboration with the government, noting that sports foster unity among local government workers. Additionally, Mbeya Regional Commissioner Beno Malisa highlighted that the influx of thousands of participants has stimulated economic activity within the region.
