NMDC Hyderabad Marathon scheduled for late August

The 15th edition of the NMDC Hyderabad Marathon is scheduled for August 29-30, with organizers anticipating approximately 30,000 participants. The event, powered by IDFC FIRST Bank and organized by the Hyderabad Runners Society, features various categories including a full marathon (42km), a half marathon (21km), a 10K run, and a 5K run. The main race on August 30 will traverse a route connecting the old city to the Cyberabad tech corridor, starting from People’s Plaza and concluding at GMC Balayogi Stadium.

In preparation for the main event, NMDC organized the NMDC Freedom Run 2026 across its operational locations in Karnataka and Chhattisgarh. More than 2,000 runners participated in 5K runs at Donnimalai, Bacheli, and Kirandul. As part of this initiative, 130 runners from various villages were identified to receive the opportunity to participate in the upcoming NMDC Hyderabad Marathon 2026.

Local authorities, including the Cyberabad police, have conducted coordination meetings and inspections to finalize security, traffic management, and route arrangements for the marathon weekend.
