Nnamdi Madubuike ruled out for Ravens season opener

Baltimore Ravens head coach Jesse Minter has ruled defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike out of the team’s regular-season opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

Madubuike, a two-time Pro Bowl selection, is recovering from neck surgery performed in April following a neck injury that ended his previous season early. While he has been participating in training camp and recent practices, the team has opted for a cautious approach to his recovery. Minter stated that Madubuike is “very, very close” to returning to game action but did not provide a specific timeline for his comeback.

Speaking to reporters for the first time since his injury, Madubuike described the recovery process as “grueling” and one of the “hardest parts” of his life, but expressed gratitude to his teammates and family for their support. He noted that despite various rumors, he remained confident in his ability to return to the field.
