No. 29 Sakura Motorcycle Shrine installs unique front fork torii

The No. 29 Sakura Motorcycle Shrine in Wakasa, Tottori Prefecture, has installed a unique “front fork type torii” gate. Designed to resemble the front fork of a motorcycle, the structure symbolizes the shrine's wish to support riders' journeys and guide them toward safe roads.

The installation was funded by donations and offerings from visitors during the 2025 fiscal year. Since its unveiling in July 2026, an Instagram post showcasing the gate has garnered approximately 240,000 views, with 98.4% of viewers being non-followers. The social media reach has extended internationally, with significant viewership from Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand, and the United States.

The shrine aims to use this new symbol to transform Wakasa from a mere transit point into a destination for motorcycle touring enthusiasts.
