Noé Ackermann prepares for solo Atlantic crossing
Noé Ackermann, a 23-year-old engineering student, is preparing for a solo transatlantic crossing in the 2027 Mini Transat. Originally from Normandy, Ackermann has been sailing since primary school and attended sports-study programs to combine his passion for the sea with his education.
Currently studying general engineering at the Institut catholique d’arts et métiers (Icam) in La Roche-sur-Yon, Ackermann also works at Naval Group in Cherbourg, where he assists in the technical design of submarines.
Following a recent training stint in the Mini Atlantique, he is now focusing on the Mini Transat, scheduled to begin on September 12, 2027. Ackermann intends to compete using a latest-generation vessel, with the goal of finishing in the top five or winning the race.
