Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or reflect on life three years after October 7 captivity
Three years after the October 7 attacks, survivors Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or are reflecting on the lasting psychological impact of their captivity in Gaza. Argamani, whose kidnapping at the Nova music festival became a global symbol of the massacre, continues to struggle with survivor’s guilt and the difficulty of reintegrating into a life that feels fundamentally changed.
Avinatan Or, who was also held captive for over 700 days, recently released a memoir titled ‘Through the Earth’ detailing his experience. He described the terror of the initial attack and his time in isolation, including a failed attempt to escape by digging a tunnel, which resulted in him being caught and tortured. The couple, who were in a relationship prior to the attack, have since ended their romantic partnership, citing the profound trauma experienced during their ordeal.
