Noa Lang struggles for consistency at Napoli

Napoli winger Noa Lang is struggling to secure a consistent role under manager Massimiliano Allegri. Despite a coaching change from Antonio Conte, the Dutch player has only recorded 183 minutes across four Serie A appearances, failing to register a goal or an assist.

Lang’s tenure in Naples has been marked by challenges, including a previous exclusion from a Champions League match against Arsenal following what sporting director Giovanni Manna described as ‘inappropriate behavior.’ While he has recently seen minutes in matches against Bologna and Fiorentina, he has yet to achieve the breakthrough expected of him.

In a recent interview, Lang confirmed that Ajax had concrete interest in him during the last summer transfer window. He noted that while discussions took place, he ultimately concluded that a transfer was not possible. Lang also addressed his adaptation to Italy, noting that the tactical philosophy under Allegri differs significantly from the style in the Netherlands and requires him to adjust his game.
