Noah Atubolu joins Eintracht Frankfurt on loan from SC Freiburg
Eintracht Frankfurt has officially completed the signing of 24-year-old goalkeeper Noah Atubolu from Bundesliga rivals SC Freiburg. The transfer is structured as a one-year loan, which includes a conditional purchase obligation that could turn into a permanent transfer next summer.
Atubolu, who has made 125 appearances for Freiburg and was a key part of their 2025/26 Europa League campaign, is expected to become the club’s new number one under coach Adi Hütter. The move follows a period of uncertainty regarding Frankfurt’s goalkeeping situation after recent pre-season performances.
To facilitate the loan, Atubolu had previously signed a contract extension with Freiburg to protect the club's interests. Reports suggest the potential permanent transfer fee could be approximately 13 million euros, which would make him the most expensive goalkeeper in Eintracht Frankfurt's history.
