Noah Centineo shares update on sobriety journey

Actor Noah Centineo has shared an update regarding his sobriety journey during an appearance on the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast. The 30-year-old actor stated he is ‘back on the wagon’ after realizing the negative impact of social drinking during his downtime between professional projects.

Centineo previously announced he was sober in 2018, but admitted in 2020 that he was no longer completely clean. He described reaching a ‘crossroads’ where he recognized destructive patterns in his life and decided to take action to prevent his situation from worsening. He credited his ability to identify these issues to the support of his family and community, noting the privilege of having access to resources.

Reflecting on his past, Centineo recalled beginning to experiment with substances after booking a role on the series ‘The Fosters’. He noted that while he started with marijuana and partying, his substance use became more frequent during that period of his life.
