Noah Fifita breaks Arizona passing record in win over Northern Illinois
Arizona quarterback Noah Fifita set a new school record for career passing yards during the Wildcats' 42-17 victory over Northern Illinois. Fifita finished the game with 325 passing yards on 31-of-34 completions and four passing touchdowns, while also adding a 30-yard rushing touchdown.
With 10,017 career passing yards, Fifita surpassed the previous record of 10,011 held by Nick Foles. Head coach Brent Brennan kept Fifita in the game late in the fourth quarter to allow him to officially eclipse the mark with a 7-yard pass to Isaiah Mizell.
Despite an early 10-0 deficit against the Huskies, Arizona responded with 42 unanswered points. Other notable performances included a 69-yard punt return for a touchdown by freshman Caleb Smith and a defensive outing by linebacker Noah Blomstrom, who recorded 10 tackles.
