Noah Reid to join CBS ‘Sheriff Country’ and potential medical spinoff

Actor Noah Reid, known for ‘Schitt’s Creek’, is set to guest star in the second season of CBS’s ‘Sheriff Country’ and may lead a new medical drama spinoff currently in development.

Reid will portray Dr. Hudson ‘Hud’ Henshaw, the chief of emergency medicine at Edgewater Memorial Hospital. The character is described as a quick-witted but rough-around-the-edges doctor raised in the Deadwater region. Despite being the son of convicted felons, Henshaw reportedly refused illegal family funds to pay for medical school.

This potential series would be the third installment in a CBS franchise that began with ‘Fire Country’. The network has utilized a similar expansion strategy previously, turning a character from ‘Fire Country’ into the lead for ‘Sheriff Country’. ‘Sheriff Country’ and ‘Fire Country’ are scheduled to return with new seasons on October 9.
