Noah's Ark replica heading to Rotterdam for boat tours

Entrepreneur Wim Beelen plans to offer boat tours in Rotterdam from his Doklaan site, now collectively referred to as Zuidyard. A central part of this venture is a 70-meter-long replica of Noah's Ark, which previously served as the Ark Museum in Franeker.

The vessel is expected to arrive in Maashaven next week. Beelen intends to conduct tours, including a maiden voyage during the World Port Days. In addition to the replica, the fleet will include two former tenders from the ss Rotterdam and two larger excursion boats, with tour prices set at approximately 10 euros.

Final permission to dock in Maashaven remains pending. The Port of Rotterdam has requested necessary documentation to assess whether the ship can be safely and properly moored. Furthermore, the municipality of Rotterdam stated that nautical safety must be verified before passengers are allowed to board.
