Noble Nketia reveals inspiration for gospel hit ‘Metease Yi’

Veteran Ghanaian gospel musician Noble Nketia has shared the inspiration behind his celebrated song, ‘Metease Yi’. Speaking on FootPrint TV, Nketia explained that the track was born from a moment of personal desperation in 2003.

While in Accra to work on an album with Nacee Production, Nketia faced professional and financial frustrations. During this period, he witnessed a physically challenged man struggling to cross a road near Circle. This encounter prompted a shift in perspective, leading him to reflect on his own health and ability to move freely despite his current hardships.

Released on October 1, 2004, as part of his ‘Vission’ album, ‘Metease Yi’ focuses on gratitude to God for the gift of life. Nketia, who was raised in a musical family in Winneba, noted that the experience became a defining moment in his gospel music career.
