Noche Suprema boxing event postponed after venue arson and gunfire

The Noche Suprema boxing event in Hermosillo, Mexico, has been postponed following an incident involving vandalism and gunfire at the venue on August 28. The event was scheduled to feature former world champion Jose Luis Castillo against Alfonso Gomez.

Reports indicate that the boxing ring was set on fire and shots were fired as vandals targeted the premises. Jose Luis Castillo Jr. confirmed that he and his team have returned to Boston “safe and unharmed” after the ordeal.

Organizers stated that the event has been postponed rather than canceled and that they are cooperating with authorities in an ongoing investigation. The promotion emphasized that the safety of the fighters, trainers, and collaborators remains their top priority.
