Italian towns kick off summer festivals and cultural events across Legnano, Benevento and beyond
A wave of cultural programmes is sweeping Italian municipalities this summer. Legnano launches the "La Bella Estate 2026" series from 27 July to 1 August, offering theatre productions, open‑air cinema, evening shopping markets and music performances at the Castello Visconteo and city centre. In Noci, EU vice‑president Raffaele Fitto joins the seventh edition of the "Chiostri e Inchiostri" festival to discuss the book *La Costituzione non è di sinistra* and the constitutional debate. Benevento’s annual "Notte delle Streghe" concludes with the immersive Janara Experience and the Janara Award on 31 July, blending folklore, music and street food. Vieste wraps up its 25th Festival Libro Possibile with a focus on Charlie Chaplin’s “Speech to Humanity” as a call for peace. Bisceglie hosts the 17th "Libri nel Borgo Antico" from 27‑31 August, featuring more than 150 authors, 50 publishers and a new partnership with UNICEF Italia. Montepagano’s 54th Mostra dei Vini runs 31 July‑2 August, showcasing over 30 regional wineries, master‑classes and live music. The Salento Book Festival in Maglie presents Paolo Stella’s novel *True* on 28 July, while the Belvedere Marittimo Summer Festival offers music and DJ sets from 1‑10 August. Additional events include a docufilm on historic witch trials in Miagliano, concerts by Giovanni Caccamo and Marco Paolini in Badia Polesine and Albarella on 29‑30 July, and a series of book, jazz and theatre evenings in Monteriggioni and Montichiari.
