Noctule releases new music video for ‘Goddess of Rot’

Serena Cherry, the musician behind the black metal project Noctule and former vocalist of Svalbard, has released a new music video for the single ‘Goddess of Rot’. The track is the second single from the upcoming album, ‘Extinguish Thy Flame’, which is scheduled for release on September 25.

The song is inspired by the video game Elden Ring, specifically focusing on the character Malenia. Cherry stated that the music explores themes of sacrifice, loss, and devotion, aiming to encapsulate the character’s tragic story and the devastating power of the ‘Scarlet Rot’.

Musically, the track is described as the slowest and least heavy song on the album, incorporating atmospheric Finnish metal and DSBM influences. It features a blend of reverb-drenched leads, melodic harmonies, emotional screams, and clean singing.
