Nodal Exchange launches 168 new power hourly futures contracts
Nodal Exchange has launched 168 new power hourly futures contracts across seven different locations. These locations include ERCOT and several PJM hubs, such as the Western Hub PJM and the AEP-Dayton Hub PJM.
For each of the seven locations, there are 24 individual contracts available, each representing a single hour of the day. These contracts offer expiries for the next five days, enabling market participants to manage real-time positions on an hour-by-hour basis.
Paul Cusenza, Chairman and CEO of Nodal Exchange, noted that these hourly contracts allow participants to hedge intraday power prices, a capability he described as especially valuable for those affected by increasing battery usage. This launch follows the earlier introduction of power daily futures and the deployment of the Nodal Access electronic trading platform.
