Noelle Quinn joins UCLA women's basketball as assistant coach

Former WNBA player and coach Noelle Quinn has been hired as an assistant coach for the UCLA women's basketball program under head coach Cori Close, beginning with the 2026‑27 season. Quinn, a UCLA alumna and 2020 Sports Hall of Fame inductee, spent 12 years in the league, winning the 2018 championship with the Seattle Storm and later serving as the Storm’s assistant, associate head coach and head coach, capturing a second WNBA title in 2020 and the 2021 Commissioner’s Cup before her dismissal after the 2025 season. She also coached the Canadian national team and led Breeze BC in the previous season.

The appointment follows the departure of assistant Tasha Brown and complements the recent addition of associate head coach Shannon LeBeauf. UCLA officials praised Quinn’s championship experience and leadership, noting her deep ties to the Bruin community and her potential to develop the student‑athletes.

Quinn expressed enthusiasm about returning to her alma mater, saying she is honored to work with Close and contribute to the program’s culture of excellence.
