Noemi Impellizzeri death investigation: conflicting accounts emerge
Investigations continue into the death of Noemi Impellizzeri, who was found dead in her home in Riposto, Catania, last August. The case involves conflicting accounts regarding whether her death was a suicide or a homicide.
Tony Proietto, the sole suspect in the investigation, addressed the case during a television broadcast. He claimed that Impellizzeri and he were merely close friends, not lovers, despite local rumors. Proietto stated that during a video call, Impellizzeri showed him a rope on the floor, and he later discovered goodbye messages. He admitted to not calling emergency services immediately after finding her body, citing fear and a lack of belief that she would take her own life.
In contrast, a friend of the deceased, Francesca, expressed suspicions regarding a mysterious individual she referred to as ‘Mister X.’ She suggested that Impellizzeri lived in a state of intimidation due to this person’s presence. Proietto’s legal counsel maintains that the primary hypothesis is suicide and argues that the homicide theory lacks foundation, suggesting that a fire at the scene may have been set by an unknown party to hide evidence.
