Roh Ji-sun reveals financial struggles and debt cycle after fromis_9

Former fromis_9 member Roh Ji-sun revealed during an appearance on the YouTube channel ‘Min Sae-rom’s Open Studio’ that she faced significant financial difficulties after her idol activities ended. She explained that because she was classified as having no stable income or occupation, she was unable to secure traditional bank loans.

To cover living expenses, she turned to credit card loans, initially borrowing 3 million won. However, she fell into a cycle of debt where she borrowed additional funds to repay previous loans as her credit limits increased. She described the debt as growing “like a snowball.”

Roh eventually cleared her debts approximately one year after leaving the group, with assistance from her brother. Her experience highlights broader economic trends in South Korea, where credit card loan refinancing balances have reportedly increased by over 22% compared to the end of last year, raising concerns regarding the financial burden on vulnerable borrowers.
