Noi Bai Airport authorities intercept unauthorized drone in no-fly zone

Authorities at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi have intercepted an unauthorized drone operating within a restricted no-fly zone. On August 30, 2026, a 360-degree UAV surveillance system detected a drone flying at an altitude of approximately 92 meters near the Quang Minh Industrial Park, located about 4.5 kilometers from the airport.

Following the detection, police coordinated with local officials to identify the operator as Le Quy H., a 27-year-old resident of Quang Minh. The individual was using a DJI Mini 4 Pro to monitor construction progress at a factory within the industrial park.

Law enforcement officials seized the device and have transferred the case to the Quang Minh Commune Police for legal processing. The incident highlights the capabilities of the newly deployed surveillance system, which operates 24/7 and can detect targets within a 10km radius to ensure aviation safety.
